The Table of the House of Commons of the United Kingdom, also known as the Clerk's Table, is a wooden table separating the members of the Government and the Oppositon. The north end is faced by the Speaker of the House and is used by the clerks. On the south end is the Mace, on a bracket above the Table when the House is in sesson, and on a bracket beneath the Table when the House is sitting as a committee. There are two Despatch boxes for use as a lectern for the person addressing the House, one for the Government and one for the Opposition. There are also bound volumes of the recent Acts of Parliament. There are also electronic devices for the sound system, water pitchers and glasses for the speakers, and stationary supplies.
