On 27 January 2019, a bombing was reported at the Cathedral of Our Lady of Mount Carmel in [[Jolo, Sulu]], in the [[Philippines]]. Reports noted that 27 people were killed in the attack, which consisted of two bomb detonations.<ref></ref><ref>Liquid error: wrong number of arguments (1 for 2)</ref> The bombings took place a week after a [[2019 Bangsamoro Autonomous Region creation plebiscite|referendum]] for the creation of [[Bangsamoro Autonomous Region|Bangsamoro]].
