The '''Federation of Muslim Women association of Nigeria''' ('''FOMWAN''') is a Nigerian non-profit making and non governmental organisation. It is a civil society umbrella body for Muslim Women Associations in Nigeria. It was established and registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission in 1985. FOMWAN is a National Association with branches in all the 36 States in Nigeria and the Federal Capital Territory<ref></ref> with over 600 Local Government Branches throughout the Federation <ref></ref>, five hundred and fifty affiliate groups and over eighty thousand registered members. The national headquarters is located at no 12 Ekukinam Street, Utako, Federal Capital Territory, Abuja. founded by an Islamic scholar Hajia Aisha Lemu with other Muslim women and she was elected the first national Amirah (president) for four years. . The group aim is to improve the moral, educational and economic development of women through capacity building, seminars and empowerment programs.<ref></ref>
The FOMWAN operates a refuge home for vulnerable children by gathering and educating them to a higher institution level.<ref></ref> As well as reduce the rate of children roaming the streets and begging because of irresponsible parenting to have them in school or engaged in a trade.<ref>Liquid error: wrong number of arguments (1 for 2)</ref>
