'''Bang Saen Beach''' () is a [[sand beach]] in Tambon Saen Suk, [[Amphoe Mueang Chonburi]], [[Chonburi Province]], [[eastern Thailand]]. It is located about 108 km (67 mi) from Bangkok to the east, so it is considered a very popular beach because it is closest to the Bangkok and close to [[Pattaya]], a world-renowned tourist destination.

Bang Saen Beach is about 2.5 km (1 mi) long, maintained by ''[[Thesaban Mueang]]'' (Town Municipality) Saen Suk.

Its name ''"Bang Saen''" comes from [[folklore]] about two young Chonburi lovers are "Saen" (แสน) and "Sam Muk" (สามมุก), they jump in the water from unrequited love and their names became the names of many places of [[Chonburi (city)|Chonburi City]], such as [[Khao Sam Muk]] a low hill near the beach, currently has a [[joss house|shrine]] for Sam Muk situated at foot of the hill.<ref>Liquid error: wrong number of arguments (1 for 2)</ref>

Normally, the [[sea water]] of Bang Saen Beach is usually not clear. But in October to February of next year total duration is about five months. Institute of Marine Science, Burapha University or popularly known as Bang Saen Aquarium located on the campus of [[Burapha University]], is one of the interesting tourist attractions in Bang Saen Beach area. This aquarium was home to a variety of aquatic animals, ranging from clownfishes, butterflyfishes, cardinalfishes, seahorses, corals, nautiluses, horseshoe crabs, sea cucumbers, sea urchins, starfishes etc. Highlights of this aquarium are [[Balaenoptera edeni|Bryde's whale]] skeleton that living in the [[Gulf of Thailand]] and largest tank showing large [[giant grouper]]s, [[blacktip reef shark]]s and [[spotted eagle ray]]s.<ref></ref>

In addition, the road from here to Pattaya used as a venue for the annual [[Songkran (Thailand)|Songkran]] festival called "Wan Lai" (วันไหล), there are a lot of tourists joins.
