Fudam Wildlife Sanctuary

Located in the eastern part of Diu, Fudam Bird sanctuary is tranquil place that is primarily a marsh area that attracts several species of birds. An observatory tower has been built from where the bird-watchers can sight the entire area and the water body of the sanctuary. The mangrove scrubs of the sanctuary have proven to be a good breeding ground for fishes. Bird-watching enthusiasts can spot the following birds at the sanctuary: Asian Palm Swift, Black-winged Swift, Cattle Egret, Clamorous Reed Warbler, Comb Duck, Greater Flamingo, Grey Plover, House Crow, Indian Cormorant, Paddyfield Pipit, Painted Stork, Purple Sunbird, Red-necked Phalarope, Red-vented Bulbul, Red-wattled Lapwing, Sanderling, Striated Heron, etc. Flamingos of the sanctuary are what catch the eyes of the tourists
