The '''2019 AFLX tournament''' will be the second [[Australian Football League]] (AFL) [[pre-season]] series of matches, played under the laws of [[AFLX]], a variation of [[Australian rules football]]. The tournament will take place on 22 February 2019 at [[Melbourne]]'s [[Docklands Stadium|Marvel Stadium]].

==Background==
The league abandoned the format adopted for the [[2018 AFLX competition|inaugural series]] which featured all 18 AFL clubs, and instead appointed four high-profile players as captain of their respective teams. midfielder and former [[Brownlow Medal|Brownlow Medallist]] [[Patrick Dangerfield]] will captain the ''Bolts'', midfielder and also a former Brownlow winner [[Nat Fyfe]] will captain the ''Flyers'', forward [[Eddie Betts]] will captain the ''Deadlys'' and forward and three-time [[Coleman Medal|Coleman Medallist]] [[Jack Riewoldt]] will captain the ''Rampage''.<ref name=AFLX1>Liquid error: wrong number of arguments (1 for 2)</ref> Each player will select 13 additional players from a pool of 100 AFL-listed athletes to form their team, with no more than four players from a single AFL club allowed to be chosen for one team.
