Sean O'Neill (born 20 January 1981) is a Northern Irish former professional snooker player. After his winning years in every major snooker tournament in Northern Ireland, and reaching No. 2 in the world's junior circuit rankings, O’Neill retired from snooker at the age of 23 and became an entrepreneur, directing a number of businesses in property management, high street retail, business coaching, and is now an investor over many business sectors.

== Early years ==
Sean O’Neill was born in Daisy Hill in Newry, Northern Ireland. He is the only son of Rory O’Neill and Rosemary Rooney. He was raised on a family farm by his grandmother.

At the age of 11, O’Neill entered his first business by selling fireworks. From an initial capital of £40, O’Neill successfully made £2,000 in the first 2 months. He continued growing his business and made a fortune by the age of 16 and decided to leave school when his focus shifted to snooker.

O’Neill's love of snooker started to develop after his father bought him his first snooker table at the age of 4.

== Snooker years ==
At the age of 16 when he had amassed a small fortune through his small business, O'Neill had the tough decision to either follow the business life or follow his love for snooker. O'Neill decided to focus on a path into professional snooker, and became one of the most well-known amateur snooker players in the world, winning major junior tournaments domestically, regionally, and worldwide.

In 2001, when he was ranked No. 2 in the world junior championships, he also won 4 ranking competitions: Fountain Classic; Northern Ireland Under 21 Championship; Northern Ireland Senior Championship; and Pontins Autumn Champion; all in the same year.

O'Neill won every junior and senior title available in Northern Ireland, and with a Republic of Ireland passport, he was accepted in the RIBSA events. He responded by winning the sixth Irish ranking event in 2003.

In the world of snooker, O’Neill was regarded as hard-working player with laid-back personality. His exciting style of play led to many praised from snooker fans all around Europe.

== Business life ==
O’Neill decided to retire from professional snooker at the age of 23, with the aim of pursuing his business life and becoming recognised globally for his business acumen and ability to mentor and advise others. O'Neill returned to the business world by launching Money Tree Properties in 2005. Later on, O’Neill launched Adore Group where he specialises in fundamental analysis and investing, with experience in asset allocation, investment strategy, facilities management, and property management.

== Personal life ==
O’Neill currently resides in Liverpool, England. His hobby includes CrossFit, boxing, running and collecting supercars, owning a Rolls Royce Ghost, McLaren 650s, McLaren 650s Can Am and Porsche GT2. Nonetheless, his greatest interest lies in providing his practical business knowledge to others, by being a mentor for people of all generations.
