The fire erupted in the building apartment at around 6.40 pm in the evening. Approximately six people were killed in the fire blaze and further five people were reportedly killed after jumping from the 11th floor of the apartment balcony in order to safeguard from the fire.<ref>Liquid error: wrong number of arguments (given 1, expected 2)</ref><ref>Liquid error: wrong number of arguments (given 1, expected 2)</ref> Ten others were reportedly injured including 2 firefighters who were in the rescue operations along with a policeman.
It was reported that the fire accident took place asa result of a possible long term neighbourhood dispute and interior minister [[Jan Hamáček]] stated that the incident was an arson attack.<ref>Liquid error: wrong number of arguments (given 1, expected 2)</ref> Initial investigations conducted by the police revealed that the fire was deliberately set and terming the incident as a suspected arson attack.<ref>Liquid error: wrong number of arguments (given 1, expected 2)</ref>
