== Biography ==
Emily Skidmore's award winning book ''True Sex: The Lives of Trans Men at the Turn of the Twentieth Century'' gathered historical examples of [[Trans man|trans men]] in the United States from the 1876 to 1936. The historical examples were gathered from newspapers, census and court documents<ref name=":4">Liquid error: wrong number of arguments (given 1, expected 2)</ref>. Some of the included trans men were, [[Joseph Lobdell]] and [[Ralph Kerwineo]]<ref name=":4" />.
