'''Alexander Mills Lane''' (October 26, 1857–November 12, 1911) was an American physician and politician.

Lane was born in [[Lexington, Mississippi]] and was an African-American. He moved with his family to [[Tamaroa, Illinois]] in 1865. Lane went to the public schools and to [[Illinois State University]] in [[Normal, Illinois]]. He had live in [[Carbondale, Illinois]] at one time and served as principal of schools for the African-American students for over ten year. He received his medical degree in 1895 from [[Rush Medical College]]. Lane lived in [[Chicago]], Illinois and served as an assistant county physician for [[Cook County, Illinois]]. He served in the [[Illinois House of Representatives]] from 1907 to 1911 and was a [[Republican Party (United States)|Republican]].
