Its full phylogenetic lineage are: Biota, Animalia (Kingdom), Mollusca (Phylum), Gastropoda (Class), Caenogastropoda (Subclass), Littorinimorpha (Order), Truncatelloidea (Superfamily), Tornidae (Family), ''Ponderinella'' (Genus), and lastly ''Ponderinella tornatica'' (Species).
