'''York College for Girls''' was a girls' school in [[York]], England, founded in 1908 and closed in 1997.<ref name="civic"></ref>

The school was founded by the [[Church Schools Company]] (later the United Church Schools Trust) and opened with 12 pupils on 24 January 1908 in Low Petergate, York. By 1997 it had about 200 pupils and was in the same buildings with later extensions. It closed in 1997 "after a prolonged battle with staff, parents and pupils to keep the school in existence".<ref name=oldgirls></ref> There had been reports of a "cash crisis" the previous year.<ref name="lewis">Liquid error: wrong number of arguments (1 for 2)</ref>

The buildings are grade II* [[listed buildings|listed]],<ref name=nhle62></ref><ref name=nhle64></ref> and after the school closed they were occupied by a restaurant called ''La Vecchia Scuola'' ("the old school").<ref name="vecchia"></ref>
