Born in Vienna, Gallos predominantly sang classical [[buffo]] roles and was often to be heard in important tenor secondary roles. In 1922, the first year in which operas were performed at the [[Salzburg Festival]], he impersonated [[Die Entführung aus dem Serail|Pedrillo]] and [[Le nozze di Figaro|Curzio]], both operas conducted by [[Franz Schalk]]. He was involved several times in premieres after the reconstruction of the [[Kleines Festspielhaus]]: In 1927 and 1936 as Jaquino in ''[[Fidelio]]'', in 1938 as Augustino Moser in ''[[Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg]]'' and in 1939 as Valzacchi in ''[[Der Rosenkavalier]]''. He sang under the direction of eminent [[Conducting|conductors]], such as [[Arturo Toscanini]], [[Wilhelm Furtwängler]] and [[Karl Böhm]].
