The collapse occurred on Xinjia Hotel, a 6.5-storeyed hotel which started business from June 2018 and had 80 rooms on the 4th-7th floor<ref name="sina_news">Liquid error: wrong number of arguments (given 1, expected 2)</ref>. == Collapse ==
At 19:152 on , Xinjia Hotel suddenly collapsed within few seconds. A witness said that he had heard big bang from the toughened glass of the hotel. Then he witnessed that the whole building collapsed within few seconds.<ref name="sina_news" />

== Rescue ==
About 70 people were trapped in the collapsed hotel.<ref name="bbc_news" /><ref name="sina_news" /> After the collapse, Fujian Fire Brigade sent 26 fire engines and 147 firefighters to rescue. 32 victims had been rescued up to 21:50 on that day.
