Alexander Kan (1960 - ) is a Russian writer and journalist. He was born in Pyongyang, North Korea.<ref>https://ift.tt/393r9JM </ref> In 1961 he moved as a political refugee first to to St. Petersburg, and then to Almaty, Kazakhstan. He has one daughter [[Katya Kan]] who is a performance artist and writer based in London.
He graduated from the Gorky Literary Institute in 1993. From 1992 to 1998 he worked as on TV editing and scriptwriting in Moscow and Almaty. In 1999 he write a full-length feature film script "The Other Sky", based on his own novel, revolving around the life of Russian settlers in Germany.
