'''Pershing''', also known as '''General Pershing''', is a [[giant sequoia]] located within the [[Giant Forest|Giant Forest Grove]] of [[Sequoia National Park]], [[California]]. In 1926, Sequoia National Park superintendent Colonel John R. White dedicated the tree to honor General [[John J. Pershing]], commander of the [[American Expeditionary Forces]] during [[World War I]]. It is the [[List of largest giant sequoias|19th largest giant sequoia]] in the world, and could be considered the 18th largest depending on how badly [[Ishi Giant]] atrophied during the [[Rough Fire]] in 2015.<ref name=FRGP></ref><ref name=NPS30/>

Pershing is located east-northeast of [[Column (tree)|Column]]. Pershing features a large triangular burn scar on its north face and a much smaller one on its west face.<ref name=FRGP/>
