In 2006, she completed her residency in internal medicine at [[Massachusetts General Hospital]] and in 2010 did a fellowship with [[Harvard Medical School]], specializing in pulmonary and critical care medicine. She joined [[University of California, San Diego]] in 2011 as postdoctoral fellow and since then was promoted to assistant and then to associate professor.<ref></ref> In 2019, she and [[Atul Malhotra]] had published a study in the ''[[American Journal of Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine]]'' that suggests that women who use [[e-cigarette]]s in addition to conventional [[cigarette]]s experience sleep disorders.<ref></ref>
