Dr. Ajai Kumar got his [[Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery|MBBS]] from [[St. John's Medical College|St. John’s College, Bangalore]].<ref name=":0"></ref> He decided to dedicate himself to oncology, and completed his residency at [[University of Virginia School of Medicine|University of Virginia Hospital]]. During the course of his career he visited India frequently.
