Adolf Bucher was born on November 18, 1878 in [[Egolzwil]] as the son of the [[:de:Stellmacherei|Wagnerian Lorenz Bucher]] from [[Geuensee]] and the Jakobea born Kupper. The graduate of a mechanic apprenticeship worked from 1905 to 1917 in his learned profession in the Federal Munitions Factory Thun . From 1917 to 1933, he was secretary of the [[Thun]] section of the [[:de:Gewerkschaft_Industrie,_Gewerbe,_Dienstleistungen|Swiss Metalworking and Watchmaking Association]] (Smuv). In addition, from 1910 to 1918 the social democrat was a member of the town council and from 1918 to 1933 of the city council of [[Thun]]. At the same time he was from 1918 to 1934 as a workers' representative in the [[Grand Council]] of the [[Canton]] of [[Bern]] represented. He also served on the National Council from 1919 to 1927 .
In 1934 he retired from politics, moved to [[Bern]] and went back to his original job. Adolf Bucher, who married Liniger, born in 1912, died on December 6, 1977 at the age of 99 in [[Uetikon am See|Uetikon]].
