The '''California Corporate Disclosure Act''' was an act written by California Assemblyman [[Kevin Shelley]] and signed into law by California Governor [[Jerry Brown]] , becoming effective on 1 January 2003. Corporations doing business in California had already been required to submit disclosure statements, but the California Disclosure Act changed the substance and timing required to be filed with the California Secretary of State for all US as well as foreign corporations that are incorporated in California or qualified to do business in California.<ref>Liquid error: wrong number of arguments (1 for 2)</ref>
