The [[Ayawaso West Wuogon (Ghana parliament constituency)|Ayawaso West Wuogon]] [[By-election|By-Election]] took place on 31st of January 2019 after the seat of the late [[Member of parliament|Member of Parliament]] for the area, [[Emmanuel Kyeremateng Agyarko]] became vacant following his death on 21st November 2018<ref>Liquid error: wrong number of arguments (1 for 2)</ref> . The violence that erupted the La Bawaleshie [[Polling place|Polling Station]] in the area two hours after the election had started caused the death of two people, 18 people wounded by gunshots and assault of a Member of Parliament of the Prampram Constituency, Sam George <ref>Liquid error: wrong number of arguments (1 for 2)</ref><ref>Liquid error: wrong number of arguments (1 for 2)</ref>. The perpetrators according to [[Yen.com.gh|YEN.com,]] were masked men alleged to be National Security Operatives<ref>Liquid error: wrong number of arguments (1 for 2)</ref>. [[Yen.com.gh|YEN.com]] again alleged that the suspects are members of the Vigilante group belonging to the ruling New Patriotic Party(NPP)<ref>Liquid error: wrong number of arguments (1 for 2)</ref>.
