Group malingering by proxy

Albert Falk:

'''Group Malingering by Proxy''' is a form of copycat malingering or fabrication or simulation of disease i.e. when many children or adults are coerced to act ill involving group dynamics with the purpose from the instigators to get gains like financial compensation, asylum or other benefits. It is often forced upon someone by a relative or a secondary person in order to gain financial or legal compensation<ref></ref>. The form is categorized as abusive and maltreating and usually involves a caregiver who induces signs or symptoms in a child<ref></ref>. There are similarities to Dr. Marc Feldman studies of [[Munchausen syndrome by proxy|Munchausen]]-syndrome which is the fabricated illness simulated by a person in order to receive financial benefits<ref></ref>. The term "group malingering by proxy" was first used by Dr. Thomas Jackson in 2005 as part of the governmental investigation of the apathic children of Sweden<ref>Liquid error: wrong number of arguments (1 for 2)</ref><ref></ref><ref></ref>. Jackson has proposed to use the term "Commando Syndrome" as more adequate for the phenomena.
