Guerrini studied piano at the [[Conservatorio Luigi Cherubini]] in Florence, before changing his focus to the saxophone. He studied both as a classical and jazz musician with teachers such as [[Mauro Grossi]] and [[Dave Liebman]].
He soon began collaborating with [[Stefano Bollani]] and also with international musicians such as [[Billy Cobham]] and [[Mark Feldman]].
Together with Bollani, Guerrini was a founding member of "I Visionari" together with Nico Gori on clarinet, drummer Cristiano Calcagnile and bassist Ferruccio Spinetti. The quintet released a double album ''I Visionari'' (2006).
