'''Anke Sieloff''' (born 16 December 1965) is a German opera, [[operetta]], and [[musical theatre]] [[soprano]]/[[mezzo-soprano]].

== Life ==
Sieloff was born in [[Stuttgart]]. From the age of five, the daughter of the football player [[Klaus-Dieter Sieloff]] received classical [[ballet]] lessons. From 1985 to 1990 she studied singing as her main subject with [[Sylvia Geszty]] at the [[Musikhochschule Stuttgart]] and continued her studies at the Stuttgart Opera School.<ref></ref>

Since the 1993/1994 season Sieloff has been a permanent member of the [[Musiktheater im Revier]] ensemble. There she appeared in many operas, operettas and musicals, among others as Carmen in the [[Carmen|opera of the same name]], Dorabella in ''[[Così fan tutte]]'', Rosina in ''[[The Barber of Seville]]'', Cherubino in ''[[Le nozze di Figaro]]'', Hansel in ''[[Hansel and Gretel (opera)|Hänsel and Gretel]]'', Sextus in ''[[La clemenza di Tito]]'', the Grand Duchess Gerolstein in ''[[La Grande-Duchesse de Gérolstein]]'', Maria in ''[[West Side Story]]'', Evita in ''[[Evita (musical)|Evita]]'', Polly Baker in ''[[Crazy for You (musical)|Crazy for You]]'', Ninotschka in ''[[Silk Stockings]]'', Jenny in ''[[Rise and Fall of the City of Mahagonny]]'', Mirabella in ''[[The Gypsy Baron]]'' etc.. The artist has made numerous guest appearances on the major German-language music stages.

Sieloff is also a sought-after musical singer and interpreter of lieder singing. She is a lecturer for singing at the [[Folkwang University of the Arts]].

== Prizes and awards ==
Already at the age of 20 she won the 1st Young Talent Award at the Bundesgesangswettbewerb in Berlin in the "Musical theatre" category. In 1990 she received the 1st prize for young talents at the 2nd International Coloratura Singing Competition in Stuttgart, in 1992 the 1st prize at the [[Erika Köth]] Competition in [[Neustadt an der Weinstraße]], in 1998 the , in 2000 the Gelsenkirchener Theaterpreis and at the beginning of the 2002/2003 season, for the third time, the Audience Prize of the Theatergemeinde Gelsenkirchen.<ref></ref>
